I just called to pay a bill over the phone. Here is the conversation.
Me: Can I speak to someone in the billing department?
Them: Is this about a bill?
Where do they find these people??!!

As you know, I talk to people on the phone for a living.
Here's one of my favorites that I hear quite a bit right after answering the phone and introducing myself:
Me: "Blah, blah, blah. This is Mike. How can I help you?"
Caller: "I'm just calling...(pause)"
Its moments like that, when people don't use their brains that I start to understand the state of the world and the human condition...and laugh.
